China Hi-Tech Fair is renowned as its creative and innovative technology.   This year, OMT Digital Display Ltd (OMT) showed their 1080P LCoS (Liquid Crystal on Silicon) light engine for the first time and it undoubtedly became the highlight for the fair.

The 1080P LCoS light engine which OMT present is using 3 individual panels optical display technology, with special features such as small in size, high resolution (1920 x 1080), high brightness (>1000 nit), high contrast ratio (>1000:1).   When compared with other technology in the market nowadays (DLP, LCD, PDP), LCoS has the advantage of high resolution, high color saturation and no flicker effect.   It is suitable for rear projection TV set with large screen size from 40” ~ 100”, precisely restore the image from HD (high-definition) signal source, so it can truly realize the theater experience at home when viewed from a short distance.

As introduced, LCoS has the best display quality when compared to other micro-display technologies, but the costing is very competitive even though it is high-tech products.   The reason is: Large technology enterprise had not monopolized the LCoS technology.   At the same time, TV manufacturing giants such as Sony, JVC and LG also pay effort on the development and production of LCoS large screen Rear Projection TV, this move helps to grow the LCoS industry.

With more than ten years experience in optical component R&D and production as well as precise system integration, OMT invest a lot of money and manpower in R&D, production and sales of LCoS light engine and projection optical components in recent years.
